Course Description
Crown Lengthening is one of the most applicable periodontal treatment modalities in restorative dentistry,
yet it is often under-utilized. Extensive dental caries, sub-gingival tooth fractures, Gingival Smiles and passive altered eruption are some the most common ethologies lead to restorative difficulties which can be better resolved with the aid of the Crown Lengthening procedure.
In this hands-on workshop, techniques are discussed for both Functional and Esthetic Crown Lengthening. Including: how to handle hard and soft tissues; proper surgical techniques;

● Indications and contraindications of Crown lengthening
● Basic concepts of biological width and ferrule
● Diagnosing and treatment planning functional Crown Lengthening
● Fundamentals of osseous and gingival plastic surgery
● Instrumentation
● Incision designs
● Full/split thickness flap reflection
● Osseous resective techniques
● Suturing techniques
● Define anatomical limitations of surgical restorative access
● Determine case selection and choose surgical flap/laser techniques to achieve restorative access

Graduated in General Dentistry in Tehran University of Medical Sciences,Tehran, Iran; 1992.
Board certified in Periodontics in Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran; 1999.
Fellowship of Laser in Dentistry, RWTH Aachen university, Aachen, Germany, 2014.
Limited practice professionally in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery since 2000.
Former Assistant Professor of Periodontics in Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, Ahvaz, Iran, 2000-2010.
