Course Description
In this 2-day crash course, we will discuss how to plan clear aligner treatment for a more predictable result with a focus on problem-based treatment planning. Prevention and management of side effects and troubleshooting off-track teeth will be discussed in detail.
Course Aim & Objectives
● To name key factors in case selection to avoid unpredictable results.
● H to carry out an orthodontic exam to measure key variables you need in treatment planning.
● How to communicate with technician to get the best treatment plan possible.
● To explain how to review and revise the clincheck or other treatment simulation applications.
● To name different type of attachments and indications.
● To explain indication of IPR.
● How to perform clinically reliable IPR.
● How to manage severely rotated teeth.
● How to use elastics in clear aligner treatments.
● To explain different reasons for developing a posterior open bite.
● How to manage posterior open bite .
● How to plan for additional aligners efficiently (refinement).
● To explain retention protocols.
Instructor Bio
Dr. Amin Shirvani
DDS, MSc in Orthodontics
Dr. Shirvani began his career as a general dentist upon obtaining a DDS degree in 2003. After graduation from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in Iran, he obtained a diploma in legal dentistry. He then began to practice as a general dentist and became an official consultant to the medical regulatory body. After two years of practice, he returned to the university and completed a 4-year program in orthodontics. He studied the application of mathematics and computer science with a focus on aesthetic dentistry and facial harmony. He has published articles in the geometry of facial harmony, computerized prediction of orthodontics, and aesthetic jaw surgery. He also has over six years of experience in academic teaching for orthodontics.
In 2013, Dr. Shirvani moved to Canada and after becoming a certified general dentist in Canada, he started to practice orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and family in Vancouver and Calgary with a focus on Invisalign treatments. Working in an orthodontic practice group was a great opportunity for him to be involved in the treatment of hundreds of clear aligner treatments. In 2017, he started his own practices in Vancouver and became a Platinum provider in 2020. He runs two clear aligner study clubs in Vancouver since 2019.
Dr. Shirvani has been following his passion for computer science and digital dentistry and that led him to develop educational tools to increase the productivity and efficiency of clear aligner treatments in general dental practices.
Dr. Hossein Arbabzadeh
DDS-MS Orthodontist
Dr. Arbabzadeh is also the co-founder and an executive director of Eversmiles. He graduated as a DDS in 1990 from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, Iran. In 1996, he attended Mashhad university where he obtained his Masters in Orthodontics. Dr. Arbabzadeh has been practicing Orthodontics for 23 years in Iran. He was exclusively practicing orthodontics even when he was a general practitioner which makes him well informed about the challenges general practitioners face when they practice orthodontics along with their general dental practice. Dr. Arbabzadeh has treated more than 6,000 orthodontic cases in his private practice.
This background enabled Dr. Arbabzadeh to design a course which would assist GPs to practice orthodontic more confidently.
He is a member of the board Iranian orthodontics association and recently he has been the President of 16th Annual Conventions Iranian association of Orthodontists.
He is a WFO member and had made numerous Lectures and presentations in international and Local congresses and symposiums.
Main interests in Orthodontics are Digital Orthodontics and clear aligners and combination therapy of fixed and clear orthodontics for more complex cases.
Cancelation Policy
In a case that participants for any reason cannot be present at the course, they must provide the Centre with a written cancellation request in advance.
If the cancellation request is provided:
• 30 days before the date of the course: 80% of the registration fee will be refunded
• 14 days before the date of the course: 50% of the registration fee will be refunded
• Anytime later than 14 days before the date of the course: There will be no refund
