BONDED FUNCTIONAL ESTHETIC PROTOTYPES (BFEP”S) and ANTERIOR and Posterior ETCHED CERAMIC RESTORATIONS(ECR’s)
Course Description
This Lecture and hands-on course will teach participants the laboratory and clinical steps for implementing BFEP’s (bonded functional esthetic prototypes) using a special light cured structural
flowable (that can actually be used for semi-permanent restorations) prior to ECR (veneer) preparation to “trial” the smile for increased predictability of case acceptance. The step-by-step process of 2 different types of ECR preparations based on the esthetically driven desired outcome will be demonstrated and completed by the participants.
- Participants will learn and complete procedures such as:
- Special clear tray techniques and developing clear matrix’s for the BFEP technique
- Bonded diagnostic Functional Esthetic Prototypes using a special high physical property flowable composite
- Minimalistic to no-prep situations
- Preparations for bonded porcelain with a specific emphasis on how to control tooth reduction
- Preparations to close Diasthema’s on one central incisor and peg lateral
- Sealing Dentin using Universal,
- Defect Driven posterior Onlay
- Posterior Block-out using structural flowable. Some call this technique “resin coating”
- Adhesive update and Cementation demo “4th Generation 2.0
Course Aim & Objectives
Main Objectives of Lecture to Learn:
- Treatment planning and case set-up
- The materials and clinical indications for use of conservative (minimal or no preparation) techniques for anterior bonded porcelain restorations.
- Clinical indications for normal and more aggressive porcelain veneer situations where mostly dentin is exposed.
- Clinical indications, materials, and techniques for Inlays, Onlay’s, and Vonlay’s
- New Glass ceramics: Lithium Disilicates and Zirconia Reinforced Lithium Silicates
- Clinical situations and materials when a crown is indicated.
- Layered Zirconia based ceramics- problem solving porcelain chipping
- Higher “Cubic” Phase Zirconia Monolithic systems.
- State of the art Adhesion, Cements and cementation
